DOCTORS OF CHARITY AND TRIAD GLOBAL INCORPORATED HOST
FUNDRAISER FOR CLEAN WATER INITIATIVE FOR THE NIGER DELTA

Houston, Texas – Doctors of Charity in partnership with Triad Global Incorporated (TGI) of Atlanta, GA will be hosting a cocktail/ fundraiser at the St. Regis Hotel 1919 Briar Oaks Lane, Houston 7-8.30 pm Wednesday, May 7, 2014. The event will have in attendance Physicians, Environmentalist, Corporate Executives and Executives of the TGI Companies that operate within Nigeria. The goal is to assist TGI and fund the deployment of a number of these Triad systems to communities with the most urgent needs. It is the hope to provide clean water for at least 200 communities before the end of 2015.

In support of the Nigerian Government’s efforts to meet this important public health objective, Doctors of Charity has chosen to partner with Triad Global Incorporated (TGI) of Atlanta GA, in particular because of their knowledge of the terrain in Nigeria as well as their genuine commitment to the health and well-being of the communities with which they work. TGI’s Global Health Water Purification System is a water purification system, which has been successfully deployed around the globe. TGI’s system in very simple step converts contaminated and impure water to drinkable and safe forms (without needing electric power), providing portable drinking water to thousands of people daily. It remains noteworthy that previous effort by TGI to gain adequate access to provide their service systems across Nigeria have largely been unsuccessful, but will be generously supported for greater access.

The objective of this partnership between Doctors of Charity and TGI, in what is now known as “DOCTORS CHARITY CLEAN WATER INITIATIVE FOR THE NIGER DELTA (DCCWI-ND)”, is to raise funds, deploy and implement 200 units of the TGI system across identified communities of the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. The Niger Delta communities and the oil companies that operate within and around these communities continue to partner on various social development projects. We have chosen to exploit our network in the region, and utilize the opportunity of the presence of representatives of the operating companies in Houston for the OTC, to formally launch the inaugural fund raiser for the initiative and to get all the participants in the oil and gas industry to commit to and support this initiative.

Two Entrepreneurial/Small Business Opportunities for Veterans.

Wednesday, May 7, 1pm - The House Small Business Committee
This Wednesday, May 7th at 1 pm the House Small Business Committee will highlight initiatives that have helped Veterans become Entrepreneurs.  The House Small Business Committee, under the chairmanship of Rep. Sam Graves (R-MO), will hold a hearing Wednesday titled, Military to Entrepreneurship: Private Sector Initiatives to Help Veterans Pursue Business Opportunities.

The hearing will highlight veteran-owned small businesses, as well as private sector efforts that have helped them succeed. Veterans that have served since 2001 face higher unemployment rates than the rest of the population, and by 2040, they will make up more than 50 percent of the total veteran population. While facing challenges in transitioning to new civilian jobs after time in the military, returning service members possess leadership skills that naturally translate to entrepreneurship. In response, several private initiatives have been launched to assist our nation’s heroes to transfer unique skills gained during military service to the world of business.
